Arken
Arken is known for its collection of Danish, Nordic and international contemporary art. Intriguing to visitors it is full of surprises. As you arrive at the museum, a boy on a rocking-horse, an Elmgren & Dragset statue waves a welcome, paying tribute to play and fantasy.
There are many interesting exhibits, Anselm Reyle, Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst are just some of the highlights of Arken's Collection You can walk onto the water on a wooden pier, finally arriving at Jeppe Hein’s cage, where you can reflect yourself in the surroundings and experience the world anew. Olafur Eliasson’s outdoor sculpture, mixes art with architecture and play, inviting visitors to climb through the structure. Arken provides visitors of all ages with plenty to explore.
As one of Denmark's most beautiful beaches lies just outside the door, you may want to combine a visit at Arken with a trip to Ishøj Beach. With 7 km of pristine coastline, a wooden pier and lifeguards on duty during summer months it is the perfect place to roam free and enjoy the great outdoors.
