Glockenspiel
Boasting 32 figures and 43 bells, the Munich Glockenspiel depicts historical scenes of the city's past on several levels.

The top level shows the wedding of Herzog Wilhelm V with Renate of Lothringen. The famous Schäffler Dance, said to have been performed after the city was freed from the pest is also shown.
The Glockenspiel plays at 11 am and 12 noon daily and during the months of March until October also at 5 pm daily. In the evening at 9 pm, the night guard and angel of peace put the Munich child to bed, accompanied by music from Richard Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" and Johannes Brahms' "Wiegenlied".

Few people know that the Munich Glockenspiel is quite innovatively going with the times-it is solar powered.
