Stefano Bemer, a renowned Florentine shoemaker, started his company in 1983 with the goal of creating the perfect italian shoe. Today his brand is synonymous with the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. Over the years he trained many talented craftsmen who continue his tradition to this day. Probably his most famous student was Daniel Day Lewis who came to Florence for a period of 10 months to learn the art of shoemaking.

Luckily this success story did not end with Stefano's passing in 2012. Tommaso Melani, with a family business background himself, decided to take on the challenge of continuing Stefano's legacy. Together with Cristina, Stefano's companion and associate designer he selected an old chapel for future operations and defined his own vision of Stefano Bemer: training the next generation of artisans, offering the finest bespoke shoemaking, providing unparalleled "made-to-order" and perfectly crafted "ready-to-wear" creations. Now Tommaso Melani is writing his own success story while staying true to Stefano Bemer's original vision.
