Margherita Pandolfini studied sculpting and the fine arts at Camberwell College of Arts in London, where she lived and worked for fourteen years. Karl Jorns studied architecture and design, then lived and worked in Brazil before moving to Florence over twenty years ago. The two met when they collaborated on a project for Elio Ferraro Vintage in Florence and decided to partner up and combine their interests and backgrounds.

In an abandoned greenhouse attached to a 15th century palace overlooking a hidden garden they began to embark on the adventure of what would become La Serra MK Textile Atelier. As the greenhouse began to take shape after painstaking renovation so did their vision of what they wanted to create. Today the greenhouse is a light flooded creative atelier, bursting with color, filled with inspiration boards and artists supplies. Their work techniques include silk screen printing, hand painting, and digital design to create unique furnishings for the home. The greenhouse philosophy of La Serra is based on using natural dyes and pigments on organic Italian linens, inspired by the surrounding nature and fauna and influenced not only by Florentine art and history but also by Margherita and Karl's travels abroad. Each project is bespoke, tailored to a specific occasion and truly unique. Let yourself be inspired and dive into Margherita's and Karl's beautiful world of colors and creation and visit their greenhouse atelier.
