Södermalm, which used to be Stockholm's working class neighborhood, has advanced to become the city's hipster district. Due to the relatively low rent in the area, designers, intellectuals and many artists have increasingly moved in over the last years, making Söder to what it is today. SoFo, "South of Folkungagatan", as the southeastern part of Södermalm is called, is known for its vibrant nightlife. Aside from trendy boutiques, cozy cafes, and many bars, Södermalm has the best lookout points of the entire city.
At one of the highest points of Södermalm Katarina Kyrka, Stockholm's most beautiful church, is located.
