Oh how nice is Munich's Au!
Originally home of blue collar workers and craftsmen, nowadays Haidhausen and Au have become very popular and trendy residential areas. Cozy cafes and eclectic boutiques complement small studios and artists workshops, rousing the interest of passerbys. Not only has this area in many ways preserved its countryside charm, but time virtually seems to be standing still at the small market at Wiener Platz. Colorful market stands offering fresh baked goods, organic fruits and vegetables and delicatessen are waiting to be discovered. Located directly on the banks of the nearby river Isar, is the "Müllersche Volksbad". This dream in art nouveau is without doubt one of Europe's most beautiful indoor pools and is always worth a visit- not only on rainy days.
