A stunning home away from home in Pienza
Casa Newton, built in 1846 by Gervasio Newton, a great-grand-nephew of physicist Isaac Newton, has a rich history intertwined with the beauty of Tuscany. In 2012, Antonie and Philippe Bertherat purchased Fabbrica, establishing the renowned Fabbrica Pienza winery. Spanning 150 hectares, it encompasses 35 hectares of vineyards and 3,500 olive trees. In 2018, they acquired the neighboring Borghetto villa, and by 2020, renovations began to transform it into what's now Casa Newton. The main villa was carefully restructured to house nine elegant rooms and suites, along with inviting communal spaces and a bar. The annexes were transformed into Il Cervo, a charming restaurant and two Panoramic Garden Suites. Ortus was later opened as the main restaurant, dedicated to celebrating the artistry of Italian cuisine. Both restaurants embrace a farm-to-table philosophy, showcasing seasonal and local products. Ingredients are sourced from their own vegetable garden and trusted local vendors. Aside from soaking up the stunning Tuscan landscape, guests can unwind at the beautiful Tuscan-tiled pool, relax with a personalized massage or enjoy a game of tennis, bocce or croquet. Welcoming guests throughout the seasons, combining beautiful design and excellent service, Casa Newton feels like a home away from home, perfect for quality time with loved ones in a magnificent setting with spectacular views of the Val d'Orcia countryside.
