A gem nestled between two lakes
Lying snuggly between the two lakes of Le Bourget and Annecy in the small town of Grésy-sur-Aix, one finds Château Brachet, the historical residence of "the doctor of the kings". Château Brachet resurrects the spirit of the beautiful country home, while from the main building to the former stables, historical allusions abound. At the end of the 19th century, Doctor Léon Brachet was one of the leading figures in Aix-les-Bains. As a doctor connected to the thermal baths and first deputy mayor, he proved to be a driving force in the development of Aix-les-Bains as a spa town and thriving resort. Along with his wife Nelly, they welcomed crowned heads from the four corners of Europe into their home, and spared no effort to treat them to every amenity imaginable to make their stay unforgettable. Today, true to the spirit of its former owners, the castle carries on a tradition of spoiling its guests. After a 10 year renovation period, the 6 hectares property has been restored to its former glory with an unmistakeable "Belle Epoque" flair. The resort is a haven of peace, where guests can pamper body and soul, relax and enjoy the many amenities Château Brachet has to offer. The gourmet restaurant "La Table du Château" and the "Cigar Lounge" provide a distinctive epicurean experience, especially for those who enjoy a good cigar after a fine meal. Château Brachet is a unique gem, uniting history with modern amenities in a most skillfull manner.
